Education scenario in Pakistan:
According to UNICEF Report 22.8 Million children between the ages of 5-16 in Pakistan are Unable to attend school or are dropouts because of various reasons. Quite understandably Christians as minority are suffering likewise. Most of them are facing adverse economic circumstances and are unable to continue their education for these reasons. Most of these children are willing but their obligations and priorities do not allow them to set aside school fees and other educational expenditures.
Our Contribution:
Peace ambassadors Society has opened four schools and ten education centers (for Brick Kiln Workers Children) across Sheikhupura, Nankana sahib, Warburton, Bhiki and Manawala. Currently they have a capacity for 30 to 50 kids. Children of brick kiln workers are getting educated up to primary, two teachers hired from the locality are assigned to each Education center Peace Ambassadors Society is currently working on expanding the capacity of theses Education centers. Currently these education centers are using the premises of brick kilns with the permission of owners. It is yet a very basic initiative but our objective is being achieved to some extent as children are getting some sort of initiation to formal education.
Goals for Future:
Our future goals and expectations are to expand these educational centers to lower secondary (Matriculation) status, attain building premises for these schools, hire highly qualified Christian teachers and staff for these schools and by the grace and provision of Our Heavenly Father provide full educational implements for each child. Our goal is to see that the future of Christian community is secured through the education of these Kids.
